Umgezogener Bengel!

Um meinem neuen Leben als Universitäts-Angestellter (in meinem Ausweis steht jetzt offiziell "Staff") gerecht zu werden, und um endlich Platz zu haben, wenn mal jemand zum Tee vorbeischaut, habe ich mit List, Tücke und strategischen Weinkrämpfen in Verwaltungsbüros ein Doppelzimmer im Wohnheim gewonnen. Da diese Zimmer lediglich 100$ mehr Miete kosten, dabei aber doppelt so groß wie ein normales Zimmer und obendrein mit eigenem Bad ausgestattet sind, kann das ergattern eines solchen nur als extremer Glücksfall gesehen werden.
Meine neue Zimmernummer ist daher C42. Und so sieht's aus:



Ich wohne auch immer noch im 9. Stock, nunmehr mit Blick nach Süden und damit direkt auf den UPenn-Campus. Der Häuserberg links ist die Medical School, das Hochause rechts eines der College houses. Die Kirche im Vordergrund ist das Iron Gate Theater, dahinter liegt das Studenten-Sportzentrum. Der Gugelhupf rechts davon ist die Wharton School of Business.

Und weil ich noch nie ein Foto des Leidy Laboratoriums (mein Arbeitsplatz) gezeigt habe, gibt es das jetzt auch noch, schaut her! Beachtet bitte das Portrait in der unteren rechten Ecke, es ist Edward Cope!

To match my standard of living with my new-found employment at Penn (I got a Penn card that says "staff", people!), I have moved on up from a single room to a double room in which I can live all by myself. Unless someone comes in for tea.
With deceptions, lies, and strategic breakdowns in the housing office, I have managed to secure this room for me. Since they only cost a cool 100$ extra while being more than twice as big as the single rooms, and come with their OWN bathroom, acquiring such an accomodation can only be seen as the best of luck. Check it out!
